A Good Deed For a Day

Perhaps she’s someone’s mother

Sitting there alone

Waiting for a gentle void

Soon to call her home

So, show a little kindness

As you pass her way

A smile will cost nothing

Your good deed for a day

Her hands so old and wrinkled

The face lined with care

But look into those faded eyes

You’ll find love showing there

So, show a little kindness

As you pass her way

A smile will cost you nothing

Your good deed for a day

That old and wrinkled face

Was once young and gay

And as the years pass along

We all must pass this way
